Justice for Dot $1600 REWARD

Dot, a spunky and fun-loving feral cat with little white dots on his legs, was killed by a crossbow arrow in the neighborhood near Lake Blvd. & Oasis Dr. Because he was feral and living in a colony, it took some time to determine what was happening and then trap him. He suffered for at least 5 days with a crossbow bolt in him before he was take to Millville Vet for what we hoped was a life-saving surgery. After surgery he was still critical, but he had a real chance. Unfortunately that night his little body couldn’t keep going and he succumbed to his injuries.

We are offering a $1600 REWARD for information leading to an arrest of Dot’s killer. It should go without saying, but killing cats, including feral cats, is not okay and is not a good solution to an unwanted colony. If they are killed more cats will just replace them. The only solution is TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return). Getting the cats fixed will stop the breeding, stop the cat fights, stop excessive roaming looking for mates, and stop the territorial marking. Haven Humane has a great TNR program for feral cats, and they fix over 200 cats a month through this program. They also offer trap rentals.

If trapping seems difficult, contact us for advice. We can provide training, resources and rental traps.

Please spread the word that killing feral cats, especially with a crossbow, is cruel and not the solution. TNR is the only humane and effective solution. Dot’s life mattered, and we will continue on with our TNR work in his name.
